Brake, transmission, exhaust and glass work is often done by specialty shops that see the same job dozens of times a week. Brake shops replace pads and rotors the same day and usually inspect for free; transmission shops rebuild or replace automatics and clutches, a multi-day job that deserves a second quote; muffler and exhaust shops weld custom pipes and replace catalytic converters, which in many states must meet emissions rules. Alignment and suspension shops fix pulling, uneven tire wear and worn shocks, and radiator shops handle overheating and cooling-system leaks. Auto glass shops replace windshields, often at your home or office, and recalibrate the driver-assistance cameras mounted behind the glass. Window tinting and car audio shops round out the group.

If you are in the NYC area with transmission trouble, this is the SPOT. They are just over the bridge in the Bronx. Really convenient location. Freddy and his crew did an amazing job on a full rebuild on our transmission, in less than a week from drop-off to pick-up. Everyone is super nice, too! 5 Stars. A++

My experience was horrible. The job requested was to replace the torque converter on my 17 Honda ridgeline. They returned my truck with all the error code lights on, the steering was completely off center and the ownerโ€™s excuse was, โ€œhe doesnโ€™t do alignments or clear the codesโ€ I had to go somewhere else for that. The owner is a crook. He said โ€œhe only does transmission but nothing elseโ€. Yet he took my money and didnโ€™t disclose he wasnโ€™t going to do a complete job before hand. I asked the manager Fred if the part was a new or used, he said it was new from a warehouse. But when I picked up the car I was told by the owner it was a remanufactured part. They did not keep me informed as to what they were not going to do and only proceeded to do the torque converter job. the manager Fred called me at 1pm saying the job was done and had to pick up the truck immediately by 6 or they would leave it on the street!! They are in no way professional and do garbage work. Go look at the shop. Itโ€™s a mess but they advertise best in business. My mistake was giving them a chance. Now Iโ€™m out $1400. they broke the ball joint and didnโ€™t tell me. Transmission oil was all over the undercarriage of the t

Great transmission repair shop! Excellent customer service by Freddy and the crew. But most importantly the transmission repair they did to my Honda pilot was a success, Iโ€™m very happy! Donโ€™t let the sketchy negative reviews discourage you, they are professionals.

I am so happy I made the decision to come to NY1 Transmission. Going to the Mechanics could be really stressful for me. My transmission was shot. After reading numerous reviews from multiple shops, NY1 was more appealing. As soon as I met Freddy ( an amazing individual), he explained everything that was wrong and suggested I replace the transmission instead of rebuilding. I have a 2008 G35x. He called his parts guys and found me a good used transmission. Took the car in on Monday, and my car was ready by Friday. The price was very fair and Freddy kept it ๐Ÿ’ฏ with me. Thank you again Freddy. Car is running great.
